- Cherry Islet Lighthouse - History/Info: On Cherry island, can be seen from the Deer/Campobello island ferry that runs only in summer. Replaced by a navigation light on a concrete pole. Outbuildings were demolished in 1999-2000. Automated. In 2000 the concrete cylindrical light was re-named as the "Cherry Island Directional Light" as per NOTSHIP M 3170. The light intensity was also increased. There was a bell placed in a tower on the island in the early 1900's as well. At one point there was a keeper's house next to the lighthouse but the Canadian Coast Guard has since demolished the house. All that is left is the small light tower.
